In tweets made during the Tuesday Senate impeachment trial of former President Donald Trump, in which he stands accused of inciting the January 6 insurrection, Republican Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene claimed that the insurrectionists were not in fact Republicans or Trump-supporters but merely anti-government.

To back up her argument, she said that the insurrectionists tried to stop Congressional Republicans' efforts to challenge Biden's electoral victory.

"If the #Jan6 organizers were Trump supporters, then why did they attack us while we were objecting to electoral college votes for Joe Biden? The attack RUINED our objection that we spent weeks preparing for, which devastated our efforts on behalf of Trump and his voters."

(Of course she neglects to mention that dozens said they were called to action by Trump)
