Hopefully someone will thoroughly review her social media. Neither gun nor taser were needed, so this could have been a hate-crime, even though it looks somewhat accidental. Horribly bad policing if it was an accident. Claiming to mistake the gun for the taser is a bright red flag that something more was going on. In no way did they need to take this action, nor when and in the way they did. If this 'den mother' couldn't deescalate the situation, can any of the rest be expected to? It isn't a matter that they lack training. Their culture teaches them to disregard it.
Resignation over firing ensures keeping a pension. Hopefully the, as of yet, lawsuit eats into that pension.
