Why should churches or anyone pay taxes? Tax is a "religious " mandate according to biblical text. 10% income was set by biblical text called a tithe.

Taxation is a form of capitalism slavery. It has nothing to do with true freedom where that everyone, every business or every money using institution (schools, colleges, museums, hospitals, you name it, etc. ) has a bank account of virtually a million billion trillion unlimited dollars to insure that money or the lack there of is not any issue nor a means of enslaving people to minimum wage slave labor wages.

Most religion seems to take the same attitude to paying taxes as do the wizards and witches in the Discworld novels of Sir Terry Pratchett.

That being that magical folk would be quite willing to pay tax, IF anyone asked them to.
However it was made abundantly clear that asking magical magical folk to pay their tax was a VERY unwise idea indeed. As might be attested to by several former tax collectors now living happily on lilly pads in frog ponds.
