When one pursues happiness itself, one is miserable, but when one pursues something else, one achieves happiness.
The fact that I have to do everything and never get to do anything, at the same time.
I always liked the question for believers that goes, "If god is all powerful, can he create a stone so heavy that even he himself cannot lift it?"
@raisedintheusa That one is even better.
If the multiverse theory is true, then there exists a universe where it isn't.
"Where there is an impasse, there is a way out."
I am taking this one to the bank !!
Xeno's paradox. Freaks me out every time I start thinking about it.
Me too. Brr.
There it is... I was checking to see if someone posted that one yet. I think it's Zeno.
@Anemynous It's either one. I looked it up under both, and got the same answer.
I’m quite surprised that no one has yet mentioned the Epicurean paradox. Always been my favorite. I especially like the way monotheists respond to it....the shrug of the shoulders, the condescending shake of the head, the rolling of the eyes, the way they have no response other than the usual “someday you’ll see the light” bullshit.
No such thing as a paradox
There are only condtradictions which indicate that (at least) one of the original premises is false.
Take Russell's paradox: It falls foul or three mistakes.
That a premise can include itself as a premise
That it is legitimate to multiply by infinity and
That two non-equal things can be regarded as the same thing.
More on this if anyone's interested.
