Madoff only went to jail because he screwed so many rich people. If he had just screwed middle he would have been on the street after a year or two.

Madoff was in a federal white collar prison resort as well. Norway has cells that look like luxury private dorm rooms, without roommates.

@Barnie2years Did you ever see the show Lillehammer? Steve Van Zandt went to jail in an episode and that place would be $3K/mo in center city.
