(Apple hates this idea)
If you live in the European Union, your days of futzing around with a handful of chargers to find one that fits your latest gadget may be numbered.
Under a proposal released Thursday by the E.U., there would be one universal charger for all cell phones and other handheld electronic devices — no matter whether you had an iPhone or Kindle or anything else.
One solution is for all phones to be adaptable to a charging panel.
Remember when if you changed cell phone providers you also had to change your phone number? Legislation stopped that so why can't it stop all the waste involved with charging cords?
There is a good market in adaptors.
I doubt this will get much traction. Even as much as Europeans like to get involved in business decisions, this one hardly makes sense.
Lol. Of course it doesn't in the country that prides itself in the creation of planned obsolescence.
