Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh seemed to suggest earlier this week that landmark LGBTQ cases could support overturning federal abortion rights.
The Supreme Court heard 90 minutes of oral arguments Wednesday concerning a Mississippi law that would ban almost all abortions in the state after 15 weeks of pregnancy.
A majority of the court’s conservative justices appeared prepared to uphold the law and possibly overturn Roe v. Wade, the 1973 landmark decision holding that women have a constitutional right to have an abortion before fetal viability, usually around 24 weeks.
And when the fascists take power, say goodbye to gay rights, women's rights, birth control, separation of church and state, goodbye to elections, democracy, the country, and any shred of self-respect. We will become the laughing-stock of the world, and Putin's gang will sell off every asset awarded by Trump. Kleptocracy will reign like it does in Russia.
What's really funny about it is that those "landmark" cases for gays won't stand, either. After despencing with women's rights, of any kind, they will wipe gay rights off the books without debate.
I've no doubt they will do their best to do both. Whether or not they succeed is another thing altogether.
@snytiger6 At this moment I’d have to bet on them even though POTUS Joe, and Pelosi (in particular), have been wonderful leaders, IMO. If Dem’s lose 2022 it will be from pure ignorance and discontent with everything. Voters should just be asked directly if they support a Christian Government and, if not, then it is their CIVIL DUTY to vote. Not doing so will be like killing your children.
