Trump's depiction of the January 6th insurrectionists as martyrs reminds me of the case of Horst Wessel. Wessel was a violent Berlin thug who terrorized Jewish people. He picked on one Jew too may and got his ass handed to him in a 6 foot box. For that Hitler and the German Nazis depicted him as a martyr and made him a "hero.

This is what Trump and his blind followers are doing to our country. It brings a chill to my old bones.
