LINK 'Don't put handcuffs on!': The aftermath of a 6-year-old's arrest at school - CNN Video

Are you freaking kidding me? Putting handcuffs on a 6 year old and putting them in the police car. Did the cop read the 6 year old her rights too? Come on, this is 3rd world shit.

It happened in the US! I have neard heard of any child in any so-called 3rd world country being placed in handcuffs.

A 6 year-old is charged with hitting an assistant principal? What color is that assistant principal? Either way, the child needed a time-out, not an arrest record. The assistant principal is unfit and should find another job. I hope they sue the school for a ton of money.

The stunning callousness leaves me almost speechless!!!! Any resemblance to a place of learning is only coincidental. I would never have sent my son, who has ASD, to a school these days. He would have been arrested or worse for his behavior, which would have not been his fault, as this child was not at fault. This is so abusive and horrifying. This child should have had a time out and parent conference to address her behavior and health issues. Instead, she has been traumatized for life.

We are all traumatized for life nearly every day of this pathetic existence. Children need to learn this is how it's gonna be. (I'm being partly snarky but only partly).

@rainmanjr I can't accept this, because I am a mother of a son who has special needs. I won't stop fighting for him until my last breath, even though he is on his own now. Children deserve to grow up and attend school in a threat-free environment, and where threats exist, we must call them out and shed the light of shame on them.

@Organist1 Hard to toss a stone without bruising someone. Of course you would fight for him (this is what mothers of most species usually do) so that was the snarky part of my comment. I won't address what children deserve and what they're given but direct attention to the movie Oliver.
