(IMO, If we had stuck with Jimmy Carter's energy plan, we'd have been in a lot better position to NOT be affected much by a crises in foreign oil. Ronald Reagan trashed the energy plan, and kept us oil dependent, and thus we fought several wars for oil late on.)
