Award winning children's author Simon James Green had been due to talk and sign copies of his latest book for pupils at The John Fisher School in Purley, South London at the invitation of the School's head teacher.
The John Fisher Boys’ school in Purley is a state school but is part owned and run by the Roman Catholic church.
The local Archdiocese of Southwark however disagreed and upon the orders of the local bishop the event was summarily canceled, with threats of serious repercussions should it go ahead anyway for all members of staff concerned.
As a result in the last six days, the entire board of school governors (After they were threatened with dismissal for a "matter of serious misjudgement" ) has resigned en masse, a petition has been summited calling for the resignation of the local director of education and parents have begun withdrawing their children from the school, as of yesterday a second petition has been submitted to the the Archdiocese of Southwark, calling for the immediate reinstatement of of the governors.

Oh did I mention by the way Mr. Green is a homosexual?
If that is at all relevant.

When are the frock wearing, kiddy fiddling, bunch of old farts that are the hierarchy of the RC church going to realise that they are the last people on earth who should be issuing orders and censorship about what young boys should, or should not, be exposed to to protect their moral well being?

Hopefully the days of church sponsored schools are numbered in single figures.
