Activist and scholar Cornel West said while former President Donald Trump isn't the one actively killing Black and Brown Americans, he's leading a "campaign of war against" them.
In an op-ed in The Guardian following the mass shooting at a supermarket in Buffalo, New York, West said things haven't changed even after a summer of protests after the killing of George Floyd in 2020.
Liberals are seeing the threat from our bubbles and it's unhelpful. While true that many battles are fought at the same time, during war, breakthrough battles are few. The entire nation takes credit for winning, and gets to determine rules going forward, while individual achievements become a matter of pride. While very nice for a festival it should be noted that pride is a deadly sin.
