What if there was no god? Nothing would change because there is no god.
What if there was no religion? Things would be very different indeed and for the better.

I will NOT try to prove you wrong, because I agree with you.

Haha, cute set of signs and cause for reflection, for sure! Not as funny as those, is a memory I have of a sign at my former in-laws church in Edmonds, WA, for people looking for the entrance. The sign said "Thou shalt not enter!" which made sense, when you realize it was placed at the one way exit from the parking lot. A few more feet was the entrance.

No, you are quite correct. Whatever evils there are coming from religion, they certainly do not come from god, but can only come from the cultural traditions, whether that is because god, does not exist, does not communicate, or does not support evil, it does not matter. Religion is clearly a human cultural construct, and whatever harm it does, it is human culture that is to blame.

What religion is however is a powerful, cultural weapon, having great power to influence, and itself very easy to manipulate. And let me think. What sort of people want a powerful weapon, which is easy and cost free to use ....... ?

I suppose “better” is a subjective call

On the one hand, there would be one fewer ( out of countless thousands of options ) excuse for charlatans of all descriptions to hide behind, but that would be because we had gone the way of the Neanderthals. I guess life is full of little tradeoffs.
