So I'm staying in a place where I have no knife or scissors. I was having a hard time opening certain packages. What to do? Simple, buy a knife. I go to the store and buy a simple small kitchen knife. When I return I realize I have no knife or scissors to open the package containing said knife. Fortunately I was able to ask for assistance and access the knife. Perhaps the people that package these knives could be more considerate of those that don't already have one?
A place where you have no knife or scissors? Are there nice men in white coats as well, who seem to be watching you all the time for no real reason? Do they keep coming around with little pills that they want you to swallow? Are you sure you went to the store?
@darren316 Wow! What an over reaction. I'm sorry you feel that way. It was not meant to be anything but light hearted.
@darren316 thank you. I really appreciate that as it is often too easy to get things like humour wrong when we're from different cultures. Aussie humour tends strongly towards taking the piss.
A friend gave me a tiny folding pen knife in the form of a keyring. The blade is only about an inch long, but it is amazing how useful it is, especially for opening packaging, when your fingernails are just not quite up to the job, and being on my keys it is with me all the time. The other side is a bottle opener and screw driver, so you can not do without one.
