(The original idea of pardons was to show mercy on those who merit it, not to reward thuggery.)
Former President Donald Trump indicated that he would pardon those charged and sentenced over the Capitol riot if he were to become president again.
Speaking at a Faith and Freedom Coalition event in Nashville, Tennessee, on Friday, Trump claimed that January 6 defendants are "having their lives totally destroyed" and are treated "worse than terrorists and murderers."
There was never any doubt. And all Jan 6th Committee work will cease and go out the window if Republicans obtain a majority in the Senate in November. This coming election is as important to the security of our Democracy as any since before the Civil War began.
They are all domestic terrorists, as far as I'm concerned, and members of their group did kill at least one cop, so I don't feel they deserve to be treated much better than most terrorists and murderers.....
