Any comments from the conservatives on this site in regards to the recent court rulings? Your party has managed to ban abortion in a number of states and loosen gun restrictions to a certain extent.
How's all that working out for you? Putting more food on your table? More money in your pocket? More freedom for you personally? Next the republican politicians will ban gay marriage. How will that benefit you?
Fossil fuels won't last forever, that's fact. Climate change is here, that's a fact. God is bullshit, that's a fact. Going back to 1950 isn't going to make your life any better, that's a fact. Your president and media are liars, that's a fact. Many of your other politicians are scrambling like rats, that's a fact. But you've got Hershel Walker on the way to congress. He'll be sure to fix shit.
Yeah, I know gas prices are high, inflation is here, Biden is ridiculous. All facts. What have your politicians done to help YOU? Engage in a coup attempt? Ask for pardons? Block legislation? Engage in helping dems pass gun regulations?
Anything you're proud of that has actually helped you?
The right to protect one’s self is clearly written into the Constitution of the United States so it is protected on the federal level.
Abortion is not listed anywhere within the Constitution so it’s left of to individual states to decide on for themselves.
That’s how the founding fathers wanted the nation to work.
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
Notice that the 2nd amendment uses the term "well regulated" it is the only time the founding fathers used the word "regulated" in the whole constitution.
Note also there is nothing about personal protection, keeping the govt in check or open carry. Do you think it was legal to walk around Boston with a loaded musket in 1798? think again.
They have been noticeably absent or silent, but maybe that's because I have about all of them blocked. Have you seen anything from them the last few days?
Personally, I find it interesting how the conservatives insist on states rights until a state votes to regulate firearms.
State's Rights is just an argument for them to push self-serving desires, not even needs, on everyone around them. I think it's a flaw which Lincoln would have cured (if he had lived) but so is complete Federal control. Imagine if states had not been able to thwart 45, for instance. There is no perfect plan but Norwegian-type Socialism seems to be stable and working well (I say this as an outsider who really has no idea how well it's working).
