I open the side gate, and this is the view that welcomes me home. It's not too tidy, which apparently makes a good habitat for wildlife. A good excuse for not keeping up with maintenance. 😜 Sure enough, I have many bees busy collecting nectar and pollen in the garden, and newts and pond snails in the pond. I also get a visit from hedgehogs almost every night. Incidentally, apart from organic ones, slug pellets are now officially banned in the UK.
What do your gardens look like at the moment?

I think it’s lovely. My late sister — who had quite a “green thumb” — was an advocate for this style, which she called a “wildwood garden.”
