Most Americans are very ethnocentric. We have less than 5% of the world population. There is a huge world outside our borders with many cultures that have wonderful customs.

I consider it an honor to be invited to join them. In my early 20s I spent New Years Day here in the US but with all Japanese people. They had imported and made all traditional food that we washed down with copious amounts of French champagne. Then they brought out a karaoke machine and sang Japanese drunk songs. The tiny whole fish were tasty, eyeballs and all.
