They are just pissed off they can't control and don't have backdoor access to all the data like they do with facebook/ meta. youtube etc.
Bit like Huawei, can't let them roll out 5G world wide as US agencies can't control, even though technological wise Huawei are the world leaders in this technology. Eg tik toc never suppressed stories like the FBI instructed Zupperhead to do with a certain laptop.
For a Capitalist society eg competition and even playing fields, the US does not mind rubbing out the competition through sanctions that favour US companies. Gas in Europe (Nord II will be stopped) and chips in China are current examples.
Snowdon exposed these agencies spy on the domestic population.

I wouldn't own a Huawei gadget, either, for exactly the same reason. May as well simply let China install a chip in your head.
