Lucy, the drugs did not jump into his system by themselves. He needed them here.
We did a show with Townse in the late 70s. Great writer and a nice man. Gone way to young.

Oh, I would give a finger or toe to have the chance to speak with him. I discovered him Way too late in my life. Actually. I heard him first on the radio , with the help of Tiny Desk Concert on PBS.
