Where normal people seek to avoid conflict, these people create it, stoke it and even thrive on it. They love drama and instigate it at every turn. And they are completely devoid of conventional humanistic virtues. We are very lucky to still be alive after Trump's 4 years...

I did not know this but unsurprised by it. Sports are really a way for kids (boys especially) to socialize (which was/is a hard activity for boys) competitively so athletes easily get attached to business world magnates. Throw in the money and how could an athlete not get drawn into that world?
