A new study finds that moths can remember things they learned when they were caterpillars — even though the process of metamorphosis essentially turns their brains and bodies to soup.

I heard this report a while back. It was extremely fascinating that the body turns to a gooey mess where no organs remain distinct, yet some memories survive the transformation. It was one of the coolest things I'd ever heard in biology.
