I'm getting VERY tired tired of having to explain to each new doctor that no, I don't IBS (irritable bowel syndrome), bad enough though that is. I have collagenous colitis, which a form of INFLAMMATORY BOWEL DISEASE, akin to Crohn's and the like. It also has autonomic system manifestations, as does Crohn's. These are tied to me being a micro-preemie, my internist thinks. And now my body is paying full price for it. To quote Yeats: "Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold." Someone asked me once, "Aren't you tired of being sick?" My answer:" I'm used to it! It's just a matter of what form of illness will I be dealing with at this stage?"
