For the last 3 years or so I get severe, painful hiccups whenever I drink something really cold. These hiccups do not stop at all unless I take a cyclobenzaprine (muscle relaxant). They're actually more than hiccups, it's part of my dystonia. My diaphragm starts a rhythmic spasm that it can't stop unless forced to relax.

I hate them they are painful and also cause my esophagus to spasm painfully. It sounds like I keep burping but it's my air being forced out.

Anyway I learned tonight that happens to be a symptom of MS.

sheesh

Many moons ago, while tending bar guy who had been hiccupping for a couple of days nonstop came in He was miserable. He had tried everything. He came for drinks to soften the hiccups. While there, he got into a heated argument with another patron - was about politics, I think. Anyway, his hiccups suddenly stopped. He would up being so very grateful to the guy he had been arguing with and It was kinda funny.

Gees? I seldom get the hiccups? Now I'm gonna be paranoid if I do get them.
