I have a regrettably list of diagnoses.
Primary Immunodeficiency Disorders: Total IgA Deficiency and CVID.
Autoimmune Disorders: Celiac Disease, Raynaud's Phenomena, and Lupus.
Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, IBS-C, Epilepsy, Autism, Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, OCD, OCPD, and ticque disorder.
They thought I had Hydrostenosis Supportiva for a while, but I haven't had an attack sense I went gluten-free 16 years ago. But ly after that, I had a DTaP shot, developed Ataxia within hours, and spent 3 months in a wheelchair... Only to catch Whooping Cough the following year. That's when I developed Raynaud's and Lupus.
My Immunologist specifically reminds me not to get any more vaccines every time I see him. I don't need the reminder, I had my titres run. I don't develop antibodies in response to vaccination, so there's no point in me getting vaccinated.
Oh, the joys of being medically complex.
That could be my problem. Every time I got vaccinated for Tdap I ended up with pertussis. I've had whooping cough 3 times in 4 years back when I got my vaccinations.
I think I need to see an imunologist to determine if I have immune system issues. I know I do, but what kind? I develop new allergies at an alarming rate, and I always have a slightly elevated white blood count. (The oncologist ruled out leukemia completely, but I have one last appointment)
People with EDS are more likely to develop MAST Cell Disorder, also called MCAS in the literature.
The components of the DTaP are all killed cell, so it can't give you Pertussis. But there is a theory that it can make some of us with Primary Immunodeficiency Disorders more susceptible to catching those diseases.
@TaraMarshall I truly belief I have immunodeficiency
@LadyAlyxandrea, Your PCP can order the initial tests for PID. It's really just a different kind of blood panel.
I have to get my childhood immunizations - all 6 at once-because of my bone marrow transplant for AML-acute myloid leukemia once a year..
Ughh. Well, I just can't get vaccines without risking more side effects.
