I am hoping someone here knows what this fellow turned into when he grew up. It was the largest caterpillar I have ever encountered. Found in Long Beach, California.

Looks like hornworm.......larvae of a hawkmoth/sphinx moth/hummingbird moth.

Thank you. I just looked that up. How interesting that a hummingbird moth is out during the day and can be mistaken for a small hummingbird. I will look into the other names in greater detail, as well. ?
