I write this on behalf of the Monarch Butterfly.
Too many Monarchs are lost to traffic encounters during migration. I propose road closures to affected roadways during migration events. Who's with me on signing a petition?

I have never seen them in groups where I have lived.. I had no idea that this was an issue.

They generally begin to congregate late in August, early in September for the trip back. If you are in their migratory path, you can't miss them.
But in the past 10 years their numbers have dropped by 95%. Only now do they appear to be increasing somewhat.
