This is our favourite time of the year to get away to the cottage. Just the occasional fisherman on the lake and no bugs or tourist campers to deal with, it's like stepping back in time 30 years but with WiFi. 
As always there is work to do but we are so busy in the summer that we rarely get to come up until the tourist season ends and our business winds down.

The original cottage was built in the 20's on the other side of the lake by two brothers, after a lengthy property dispute they decided to move the building across the lake ice on an oak sledge hauled by a term of Percheron draught horses and up onto a stone foundation at the current location. A severe storm took out the roof of the old cottage so we jacked it up and built a new foundation and an addition onto her, now I am putting a metal roof on her and a new wood stove and chimney. In the family since 1947, this is a place of neutral ground where the atheists and the religious can get along because the cardinal rule is that everyone must leave their issues and their butt hurt at the gate, it does not come up the hill to the cottage.
