You Canadians have a lot more going for you than what you think.

Look at how fucked up our Judicial system, and Health system are. It literally would have been cheaper to move to Canada than pay all the medical bills. A friend of mine lives in BC. He said that 95 CND (about 75 USD) was taken out of his check. That was for regular doctor visits, extended stay, dental and vision. It also covered his daughter, but now she is covered by the Province. He said he was never denied medical. Ever. The only thing he said he had to pay for out of pocket is RX drugs. Have any of you been denied medical? Ever? Oh my premium is about $300/mo, I still have to pay $50 everytime I got the doctor. They won't cover all of a medical procedure. I still had to pay $1,500 for my back surgery, and I have to pay for the pills too. Here's what I posted on another group on here. I thought my neighbours to the North would think this is pathetic. Also my friend said that they turned Americas perception of how health care works there is so wrong that they turned it into a drinking game.

Make America SICK again!

I just found out that the insurance policy I've had since birth will be cancled in December. Yes In Dececember I would have had the same policy for almost 35 years!

I need another back procedure done. Great.

My mother was just diagnosed with hep c. She went to the doctor today, and just told me that the insurance company might not cover the treatment she needs. If that happens the doctor himself said she will die a slow, painful death.

I hate to say something like this, but I wish someone would put a bullet in his fucking brain!!!

Really sad how you people have been so screwed by your for profit health care system.

It is sad that people die, or end up bankrupt because of medical bills. You can read all you want online, but I know people that have been through this.

We tried to start a universal health system. Nixon fucked it up. Obama tried to fix it. Trump fucked that up as well.

We have this thanks to our Greatest Canadian, Tommy Douglas, a socialist.

It’s quite ironic because the republicans cherry pick things from Canada’s universal health care to make Americans resistant to it. I’ve lived and worked as an RN in both systems. There are positive and negatives in both systems but Canadians enjoy the longest life spans globally.

I've heard Canadians live an average life of 3 years longer in the US. But we are told we have the BEST medical care in the world. We have the highest infant mortality rate in the Western world!

On a side note, we are told that in Canada, you'll be on a waiting list for any procedure. It took about 3 months for my back surgery! The last month or so, I was in bed for about 23H 45M EVERY day! I could not go anywhere. Just to go to the bathroom, I'd have to stop and lay down in the kitchen. My bathroom was about 10 feet away! I lost about 20 pounds because I couldn't stand long enough to make anything to eat. Could hardly get a glass of water.

@TheGreatShadow that’s one of the most common things to mention is the waiting times. I waited six months for back surgery in Dallas while two insurance companies bitched over who was going to pay for it. There is some variation province to province. Prescriptions are based on income when you file your taxes.

@Green_eyes That's one thing my friend Murray mentioned. He said that health care varied from Province to Province. The pills, I don't know how that varies up there. In the UK you pay a standard price for a RX.

Yes, I appreciate our medical & wouldn't live in the US for any reason....EVER!!!!

Can you imagine my bills if I did????

Ruptured appendix
Tubal Ligation
Gall stones
D&C's
Lumbar laminectomy
Breast reductions
Cancer
Hip replacement, & waiting for the second one
Sundry other non-surgical issues
Meds.........

Thanks for the reply! If you lived in the US, you'd probably be bankrupt, or dead by now. I was on the phone with my mother a little while ago. She said that you'll be on a waiting list for a long time for a serious medical procedure, and probably die before you got treatment. I already knew this was a world of lies. I know several people that live in Canada.

@TheGreatShadow Your system is an outrage.

@Lilac-Jade That is the common thought with most countries. If you make a Canadian mad by our system, imagine how most Americans feel.

@TheGreatShadow

I know.

I have friends, & relatives, who are in the US. One very good friend just died because she couldn't afford to pay to live.

@Lilac-Jade I'm sorry to hear that. I myself personally know who have been in that situation. My best friends dad passed away a couple years ago. Pancriotic cancer. After six months, he told me he was 180K in the hole. That's with insurance. He was in his early 50's when he passed. Shortly after his passing, his wife called me. Wanted to sell me her house and the farm. They had half a dozen rental properties. I've known this family since I was 8 or 9. When she called, I could tell she was doing everything to not break down in tears.

She did get to keep the house and farm, and one rental. Everything else had to be sold. You can't afford to take care of yourself here. Unless you are rich. The politicians get government health! You can't afford to go to the doctor for something that could be easily cured. Then it gets so bad that the medical bills are outrageous.

@TheGreatShadow Grim state of things for you, & I don't understand it. You're the only nation without universal health care as far as I understand it.

So many Americans believe it is a snap to move to Canada, like moving to a different state but in fact it is a different country. It's possible to move to Canada from the US but unless you have A LOT of money you will have to get in line with the rest of the people from around the globe who want to move here. Here's a link:

Just as an FYI, we know exactly how much we have going for ourselves and seeing the shit show that is American politics just makes us more appreciative of that.

I did know a gal that moved to Canada. IIRC she said it wasn't that hard. But then again her and her husband (I think he is Canadian) had good paying jobs. Another Canadian told me it was as easy as to marry a Canadian girl. It kinda used to be like that in the US!

@TheGreatShadow If you are married to a Canadian then that would be a green light, this would apply to most countries in the world, except maybe the US.

@Surfpirate That's how Melinia got here. I guess that doesn't apply to Mexicans, even the ones born here. Only White Europeans. 😟

@TheGreatShadow Have you ever been to Canada, in January or February? You might want to check it out first, we're generally quite friendly unless you are in our face about being from the most exceptional country in the world, then we think you should go get stuffed.

@Surfpirate Been to Canada a few times.

And even though not my fault, I apologized for Junior. And Trump. I'm not going to move there and fly an american flag. I took a picture of a town here where they only flew the Mexican flag. I put it on FB. The mayor saw it. He said there was nothing he could do about it. In the US you need to have a US flag on top, then whatever flag below. There weren't any American flags, so the law didn't apply! If it's so fucking great, go back there!

If for some reason I moved there, do you think people would be mad if I had a flag pole with the Canadian flag on top, a US flag under it, and a Czech flag below it?

@TheGreatShadow Here you go, fly those flags proudly in their appropriate order.

@John_Tyrrell The cut off is having at least one parent who is a Canadian citizen but you can still apply for permanent resident status and eventually apply for full citizenship.

I read stories daily from down there about how much you're forced to pay and how heartless the system seems. It breaks my heart.

Move to Canada.

Umbral Level 8 Oct 3, 2018

If I had cash in hand, I'd do it in a heartbeat! Justin even said that if trump became president, he would welcome people from the US. I'm a non-felon that is college educated. I'd have no problem moving there.

@TheGreatShadow you would be accepted I'm sure. Figure put how to get a work Visa, then consult a Canadian doc and explain yourself. I'm sure there's a way to turn your procedure into an "emergency procedure", which I believe will be provided free. You might have to pay for some meds and other odds & ends, but nothing like down there.

@Umbral Thank you for the reply! I really need to look that up. I mean, this is the country I've lived all my life, however, I would be proud to say I am a Canadian.

Seriously, thanks!
