I subscribe to most of the big car magazines (Motor Trend, Road & Track, Automobile, Car & Driver), and even write occasionally for www.greencarreports on EVs. These days I am on my second Tesla Model S, having migrated from an S85 (362 hp, single motor) to a P85D upgraded to Ludicrous (originally described as 505 hp on the rear axle and 257 hp on the front) with 0-60 mph at 2.8 seconds. I have run the 1/4 mile in 11.36 seconds with this vehicle on all-season street tires!!!! These days I am waiting for final ordering details on the smaller Model 3 Tesla with AWD and Ludicrous Performance upgrades which I HOPE is available by the end of summer. I have also started my long-term savings plan for banking away enough to seriously consider getting that Generation 2 Tesla Roadster when it becomes available around 2021 (0-60 mph in 1.9 seconds, 0-100mph in 4.2 seconds, quarter mile in 8.8 seconds, top speed in excess of 250 mph and...620 mile range!!!). Of course I might get sidetracked by next year's Porsche Mission E when it arrives just NEXT YEAR. I also have a deposit on a Lucid Air which also has the promise of some amazing performance numbers and even a daily driver option of the Sonders 3-wheeler which is supposed to start at $10k (if it ever makes it to production).
Got a chance to check out the Model S and X at the F1 race in Austin. Very nice cars, despite some of the negative comments I've read. I had a deposit down on the Model 3, but got impatient with the wait. Happy owner of a Mustang GT for now, but the performance edge of the electric car is undeniable.

Posted by OhubCleaned up my 4C last night and took it to a loc car show this morning. There were three 4Cs there - which might be about the total of them in Omaha. The third 4C parked in a different area.
