I have insomnia and in order to fall asleep, I have to have tv on now.
It sucks, but I’ve gotten used to it.
Last night, around 4am I finally went to try and sleep.
Walked in my room and shut off the lights, without turning the tv on.
Immediately, my mind started spitting intrusive thoughts my way, thoughts that rip my heart to shreds.
So I quickly grabbed the remotes and waited for the light of the Netflix screen to calm my anxiety.
Off in the corner of my room, I saw the Easter basket my mom brought for me a week or so ago.
The silly plastic grass caught my eye and made me smile.
I’m 49 years old, and she still brings me Easter baskets.
I snatched that basket up and brought it to bed with me, lol.
I turned on stand up comedy, ate about 20 jelly beans, immediately they brought me back to the feeling of being a kid again, with each different flavor.
Then I chomped off the chocolate bunny ears, decided that chocolate was cheap and nasty.
Brushed my teeth and knocked out.
I went from feeling ancient and sad, to 12 and sassy inside of 20 minutes. Under the covers, with an Easter basket.
Posted by FernappleI went for a walk in the woods today, and on a tiny oak tree, I found this wonderful cluster of, so called, Oak Apples.

Posted by sc62Day trip to the lake last weekend. I spent most of an afternoon next to this lily patch. It was such a nice, refreshing mini retreat.
