I'm a native Georgian (whoop dee doo) and living in Kennesaw. I've been here about a year and don't know anyone nearby, much less any non-religious people. I suck at meeting people.
Maybe everyone worth meeting has, like yourself, been intimidated by the dominant religious social order into keeping their heads down and out of sight, keeping a low profile. That does rather suck.
Have you thought about either sharing a little bit about something you find interesting or complimenting or showing curiosity for something you see someone else saying or doing? Meeting people is partly about mutually finding out a bit about each other.
