I grew up in a rural bible belt setting completely devoid of anything that wasn't top 40, but somehow, among my many friends who had more access to other genres and sounds, I am the only one who remembers the unique sounds of 80s indie band The Fall. I couldn't tell you where I would've heard them as a youngster, but I distinctly remember not liking them at all due to the way their frontman sang. (Only source I can imagine would be been sneaking up to watch 120 minutes on MTV). I recently rediscovered them and I love em!
