What is it?
It was very painful, but I ran out of the easy spots long ago. This kind of artwork is an abstract surrealism called Biomechanical as it has machined like structures combined with organic or biological aspects. Its the same type of artwork that covers my back. It grew out of the work of HR Giger as many of us were fans and had clients that asked us to reproduce his work. Over time many of us began creating our own versions which developed into a whole new style. The tattooist that did mine, Guy Aitchison, was the best at it. His work help inspire an entire new generations of artists to come into the tattoo business. He is one of leading artists helping to change the artistic level within the business so much that the last 2 decades are now referred to as the tattoo renaissance. I do a lot of this stuff myself, I will post some of my work soon. I also do paintings but mine leans more to the organic side.
