Atheism is defined as an important stage in the progress of the individual to Enlightenment, although I would prefer to call it a breakthrough to reality from fantasy thinking. It really only demarks that stage. It says nothing about the further direction of travel or whether any progress has been/will be made. I feel that many lazy thinkers get stuck with a milestone or millstone which only serves to take away the need to think deeper and importantly how we might get all peoples to think about progressing to reason and Logic and leave religion behind in a peaceful process. Of course, I congratulate new Atheists on entering our sort of thinking, usually by their own efforts but the situation demands deeper thinking. evidence and science.
