It will not be China, India or handouts from Western Countries that will transform Africa. The key to transformation of Africa lies in one seed, that's FREEDOM OF THOUGHT. Once, you suppress that, then keep on dreaming about human dignity, keep on dreaming....and the World is ready to gaze and laugh. All the power, all the dreams, all the pride, everything you can think of, has it's gestation in that simple seed. And tiny brains in Africa, cannot allow it to germinate.

There are a lot of loaded statements here I could argue with. "Handouts" is a loaded term. If This is legit, I can guess your politics. You have to know this isnt the only mainstream view. To say something like that without citing any academic references, you have to know nobody is going to take such a charged opinion seriously.
This has to be a joke.

You write of "AFRICA" like its a homogenized entity. When in fact "AFRICA" is as diverse as any other continent. From the Berbers of the north to the Xhosa in the south to the Hutus of the east and the Fulbe of west africa, just to name a few. Along with this diversity comes unique circumstances that cannot be simply explained away as "freedom of thought". Most if not all of these unique cultures are restrained and contained by World bank and Western nations economic terrorism. It is very hard for developing nations to feed, clothe and educate its populace when said developing nation has to devote abnormally large percentages of its GDP to pay off decades old debt. Futhermore, when a developing country has resources such as The DRC or Sierra Leone, foreign powers interfere in the developing process by either direct military power, assassinations or formenting tribalism. This "freedom if thought" comment is myopic and does disservice to the real issues that plague the continent as a whole.

Tell me one culture or set up tribal organization that doesn't need freedom of thought? What you say may be right,but can we blame in brutality and political Liberty suppression on those Western groups like World bank and IMF?
@0752532706. How absurd!! Of course any organization has "freedom of thought", whatever that broad statement means. Can YOU DEFINE FREEDOM OF THOUGHT? Your orginial statement was so broad that it was almost laughable, especially coming from someone that CLAIMS first hand knowledge of the workings of a local entity. What "freedom of thought" is in Uganda isnt necessarily the same, "freedom of thought" in Mali or elsewhere. How could it be? Situations dictate thought and circumstances determine outcomes. My situation here is certainly different than anyones in Uganda or Mali or Central African republic as theirs is to mine and each others. So how can you or any other rational person include a WHOLE CONTINENT under such a phrase? Its utter nonsense.
Lastly, many organizations such as the Catholic church and the Latter day saints issue edicts and dogma. These edicts are to be adhered to or dire consequences/actions are mandated and enacted. This gives little to no room for this, " freedom of thought" phrase.
Are you saying that Africans lack the intellectual ability to do anything of value? If so, you are an intolerable and destructive bigot!

Unfortunately,you can brand me the way you want,I grew up in Africa and spent time seeking freedom for Africans in Africa until when I had to take a break, if you think I am a bigot,good for you , grab wine and celebrate your branding.
I have to agree with you walt. This man by his comments is either a fraud or a troll. Growing up in "africa" is his retort. Really? He seems to be self loathing if he is legit or more likely a sterotyping racist.

You grew up in "africa" so that makes you some sort of expert on the whole continent? Lastly, I spent twenty four months in Liberia with Doctors without Borders. I have familiarly with the Liberian culture, doesnt make me an expert on the whole continent.
