Penn Jillette brought up the Rozz-Tox manifesto by Gary Panter in a recent episode of his podcast, and next to Thelonious Monk's list of gigging advice and witticisms, this is the other greatest short read for any creative type who strives to monetize their art without fear of "selling out." Gary Panter was a cartoonist, illustrator, designer and musician. He designed the set of Peewee's playhouse to give you an idea of his aesthetic. Item 1 also reminds me of where progressives are coming from in this election.
The avant-garde is no corpus. It merely lies in shock after an unfortunate bout with its own petard.
