it turns out that this tree is a Big Leaf Maple and it's not only spalted, it's quilted too as well we have some burl knots for head caps. This is like hitting the lottery
That is spectacular wood !! Nice features. What kind of wood is that? $$

it's spalted Maple. It is money, that slab would cost about $2500 if I bought it. I have a neighbor who had a tree come down, and I rescued a good part of this tree from the grinder. We are milling it our self at 2.5" thick. This was the log we used to get the mill setup the rest of it will be cut in the next few weeks. Then there will be drying time and more milling. We got 6 slabs from that one log and we have 8 or 9 more logs to mill before we start the drying processes.

We are just starting, well we started this a year and a half ago but health issues and weather has held us up. I will be posting guitars we make for sure. My buddy I'm doing this with is one of the best techs on the east coast and has a luthier degree. We found the wood and the idea just took off. We have 20 orders ATM with no time line.
I have over 30 guitars right now of all makes and models.
