I am Brazilian and I am curious to know the impression that my country and its population cause to people of other places of the world ...
Tell me what you think of Brazil, from a foreign perspective?
My impression, is of a beautiful country that throws the best carnival in the world. It also seems to be a place with huge gaps between the rich and poor that doesn’t do enough to stop deforestation. The second part could describe many other nations in the world at this point. The homeless camps here in California are becoming massive, for example.
Bom Dia, RonanSena! Bem-vindo ! I visited Brasil a number of years ago, São Paulo region. I loved the language, which I have mostly forgotten, halfway between French and Spanish. The place is crazy, exciting, and dangerous with a lot of violent crime and poverty. I love the music, which has a unique beat all its own - it is impossible to stop moving when Brasilian music is playing. Wonderful fun loving warm-hearted people, but too many of them. Population is a problem. Industrial and economic powerhouse - the USA of South America. Current political leadership is unfortunate as it is in most countries these days.
Boa Noite, Amy1992 ... Obrigado, you're great in languages, I'm terrible, unfortunately hahaha ... I'd love to talk to you more often on my language, in case you want to practice to remember ...
In fact the region of São Paulo is very busy and dangerous, I've been there a few times, a place full of possibilities and adventures ... Crime and violence in Brazil unfortunately is a bitter reality, I would one day have a sequence of good governments, and mainly massive investments in education, culture and science ... I am from a more interior and peaceful region, an industrial (steel) and student center, city of Ipatinga ...
Our music focused on entertainment is really addictive, although my main taste is classical music, rock and a electronic ... I am very eclectic and I have no problem with styles ... I do not know what happens to the political world in the moment, things are going very extreme and lack common sense and a certain centralization ... what do you think?
@ronan_cruzeiro I would love for you to post in Português! I'll have to reply in English or French as my understanding is better than my expression. And Reverso is always nearby! Politics is depressing these days. I try not to think about it. "Populist" ie, Fascist leaders are being elected in western countries. The USA is clearly collapsing just as the USSR did 30 years ago.
My first reaction was surprise at a Brazilian introvert! Sorry to be so crass, but we mostly see you at Carnival time or on the beach. My feeling is that it is harder to be an introvert in hot countries because people spend more of their lives out of doors and you have mix more. That's what I find in Spain. I am considered very odd because I don't want to spend as much time as possible out in the streets or in a cafe making loud and inane conversation.
Thanks for responding ... Well, I'm not really that introverted, but over the years, after turning completely to scientism, I'm afraid to say a few things, not to seem arrogant.
After all I am a skeptic in a country that people are very attached to their beliefs ... my approach is limited to trivial and routine issues ...
The only stereotype I can think of is an obsession with physical beauty. I have the impression that Brazilian women are seriously into plastic surgery.
haha you're right ... there really is some concern in the aspect of beauty, especially in coastal towns and beaches ... there is a high rate of plastic surgeries ...
@RonanSena Sorry to hear that. I am sure there are some ares in the US where there is more of that going on, too. Not so much here in the midwest.
@itsmedammit You do not have to apologize. Thank you for answering.
I have not visited Brazil ... I know that Brazil is racially diverse, many people are Catholic and the rate of poverty is quite high. I would like to visit Brazil one day.
Yes ... I love the racial diversity and the mix we have ...
Religion is a serious problem, there is a great migration from Catholicism to Protestantism. In addition, our basic education is a drug, it becomes a dangerous and explosive mix of "ignorance + religion", poverty is a reflection of the succession of poor governments and the lack of investment in education and science.
The Brazilian is very receptive to visitors, a very hospitable and caring people ... I recommend everyone to pay a visit and get to know Brazil!
Beautiful people and beaches... Especially gorgeous women
Of course ... some beautiful beaches and many beautiful women, this really pleases me too ...
You're as fucked up as we are
yes, I understand that everyone is equally "fucked" ... I mean from the generalist point of view ... We chose a stupid politician, but that in a way in the elections we were at a crossroads, we were among 2 bad alternatives, one corrupt and filthy, the other ignorant and stupid ... I want your opinion on stereotypes myself (I know that stereotypes may seem prejudiced and generalized, but I will know how to discern and digest
@RonanSena when I think of Brazil I think of all the mistakes we made... Unfettered greed and capitalism and its shortsightedness regarding native people and environment. Plus you are all pretty hot.
