Our family recently rescued two older mares thru Savethehorses.org out of Cummings, Ga. We ended up with a 23 yo beautiful Tennessee Walker and a 17 yo Paint. These girls have spent most of their lives together practically glued at the hip.
They are very gentle, easy going tho the Paint is a natural born show off and jokster.
Its been many years since Ive been close to horses and forgot how calming and theraputic they can be. I have high blood pressure but being around the girls has had a positive affect.
We fell in love the moment they gracefully walked out of the trailer. The horses were free, tho there is an adoption fee of under $500. That includes a vet visit before they arrive, transportation to your home. They even threw in a saddle, two harnesses and two leads.
This has drawn my teenage grandson much closer to his parents and myself. He rarely shuts himself in his room with his cell phone any more. He did a lot of work building the fenses with his parents and not begrudgingly either.

@Heidi68 oh they do. He's the peppermint guy.
Can't wait to see pictures - not only of the horses but of all the bonding that is happening.
