I can hardly get anything done indoors, every waking moment I want to be raking or transplanting or pulling weeds. I've been sharing clumps of bergamot locally and mailed some too.
Found this cutie at Kroger today. I read she likes full sun and is drought tolerant. Any other tips?
My yard is rural, with chicken and deer droppings, and forest to three sides.
Just put down 30 cubic feet of mulch today. Tomorrow I'll clean up the asparagus bed.
I love asparagus. My father had almost three acres, a lot of which was garden. He agreed that I could plant asparagus, which he didn't care to eat himself. The third year, when it was really starting to produce, he plowed it under. Said he needed that few feet for tomato plants (which he never ate either.) He could be passive-aggressive at times, but he was aleways there when I really needed him.
Cleaned my asparagus bed last week <3
Being from Ky you know rabbits like to just bite things off and leave them. But I don't know a fix for that
The fix; don't plant more than you can fence off.
@Robecology
Wise words from our resident scientist.
No rabbit problem here. I run a cat rescue.
I don't know if you checked if the deer will like it. If they do, you can cage it or sprinkle garlic powder on them. Deer DO NOT like garlic.
Our garden is inside a 6 foot tall privacy fence. While there's a deer run just outside of the back, I've never had one jump the fence.
@bigpawbullets , I have seen deer jump a six foot fence. It's surprising.
@freeofgod
Yep, I have too. I think that we've been fortunate as I really don't want our GS pulling one down if it gets into "his" yard.
Awesome. I'll put it near the allium patch. That's really helpful, thanks!
@bigpawbullets I don't want "my" deer shot either, but skilled careful hunting is IMO kinder than commercial meat production in the USA.
