I think we're headed to a (at least) recession.... anybody ever short, and make money? What would be good stocks to short?

I've heard of people doing it , but I don't understand how it works .

Shorting the market means you are betting the price of the market (or a stock) will drop. Very risky because of many factors.
@Lop-Eared-Mule I understood that part of it . What I son't understand , is how you can make a profit off of it .
