Recently watched a video , saying there is a flaw in the 5G technology . It said , the new technology , while many times faster that the 4G equipment , requires much shorter wave lengths to send data . According to his remarks , the problem is that , while this works if you are extremely close to a transmission tower , the shorter wave lengths will not travel through walls or even glass windows . He said one company has created a solution - using satellites . That seems odd to me , because most homes and businesses still have roofs , which those transmission waves still can't penetrate . He went on to say that Elon Musk has found a way around this by launching a satellite network and has already launched a hundred and twenty satellites into orbit . That in itself is a major accomplishment . It will be a requirement for his self driving cars . This will also have an enormous effect on trucking companies , as these trucks will be able to handle deliveries to businesses and stores . Humm , wonder how those vehicles are going to manage self , gassing up . Elon Musk has also created the boring company , which manufactures equipment for drilling under ground tunnels for trains . Wonder how the shorter wave lengths are going to handle that ? At any rate , I looked up spacex , the company that has launched the satellites fo enable the 5G equipment , and did not find it listed on the stock market . They do list his Tesla company , but my interests were more about the 5G technologies specificly , than in the self driving cars .
