On the same theme as my last post, trying to make sense of what sounds almost as nonsensical as the religious view "god created etc" I came across this summary of current knowledge/theory which makes sense on paper but requires a suspension of disbelief on some level to accept it.

Philip, if you want to learn who has to suspend disbelief, take a fiction writing course. Or in Wikipedia, look up “suspension of disbelief”.
The summary of current knowledge/theory you referred to makes little sense because you have suspended your insistence on evidence. Keep at it and you will in time see Big Bang cosmology as a religion — words without evidence.
That's what I am struggling with. In order to 'believe' in science at the sub-atomic level one needs to accept theories on faith until they can be demonstrated materially. THE QUEST TO UNDERSTAND THE TRUE NATURE OF REALITY BECOMES A MATTER OF FAITH, WHETHER VIA RELIGION OR SCIENCE.
I don't think that this requires a suspension of disbelief. It requires study of science.
