Hello all, I'm a new member. I was diagnosed with asd at the age of 48. Everything made a lot more sense after the diagnosis. A life of weirdness became a life on the autism spectrum. At 52 now, I am much more at peace with myself, and much less concerned about what others think. Are there other late bloomers here?
I'm 43 I'm part of the group that was put on Ritalin back in the early 80s. A lot of us now in our 40s and early 50s are finding out that it wasn't just A D D; it was autism spectrum disorder as well. And do you are correct, it explains a whole lot. It helps to be more accepting of oneself at least for me.

Posted by MelbatesMy nephew is high functioning autistic. One friend is Asperger's. My "second mom's" grandson is Asperger's. And, another friend is higher functioning autism than my nephew.
