Y'all need to come to grips with your Fears and Desires-
People make surface judgements on others, even those that meet their parameters. Too far away- is probably the biggest excuse. We're not in Conastoga wagons anymore, people!
Try harder.
It is hard for many to travel and certainly to uproot a life. I can travel easily but I am aware that is a luxury
An oversimplification of a real problem. Money can definitely be a problem for some, especially with distances over a thousand miles. Some folks are tied to their location because of job, home ownership, family, or a lifestyle based on location. There is the problem of getting to know each other by spending time together over a period of weeks maybe months, putting a lot of pressure on the few days you get to spend together and phone calls. I have been in two long distance relationships, one of 90 miles and one of 200 miles. Both relationships couldn't over come the distance. It is much easier to stay connected by phone now for sure without those three hundred dollar phone bills. Life is not a romantic comedy destined to work out by the end of the third reel. Distance is by far the biggest challenge with on line dating IMO.
I certainly know people who are in distance relationships. I was in one for with a woman who lived 0 miles away. I would (and have) drive a few hours to meet somebody I met online. But investing in an airplane ticket to go meet someone? ask her to do so? I'm not so sure. That's just me, everybody has different preferences. Some people on airplanes every week.
Whoops, how do I edit? 200 miles.
Exactly!!!!
you're only interested in cis-men--?
@Skeezwazzle I'm more interested in someone who wants to be my business partner first....and let anything else happen over time. I believe that every relationship needs a solid friendship and shared dreams and goals to start.
