Starbucks? Those guys shouldn't have been arrested. I've used bathrooms in places without buying anything and waited longer than I wanted to in places without buying anything. The dude they were waiting showed up while the guys were getting cuffed, which means they weren't lying. The cops should have let them go as long as they left with the guy they were waiting on. Every encounter with a cop shouldn't have to end with an arrest.
Get arrested for going to Starbucks washroom w/o buying something??? My ex-wife does this all the time and never had issues much less with cops. What is wrong with those cops? Lack of having something to do? Glad I stopped drinking coffee, Our society lives in fear of one another and is getting worse. Glad no one got killed by 10 bullets or so. Is this the kind of America Trump promised?? If so, I am glad I moved to Canada.
No shit, the manager shouldn't have called the cops, and when the guy they were waiting on showed up they shouldn't have been arrested.
There is one thing for sure, those two guys are going to get one hell of a payday from Starbucks. They aren't going to get anything from the police dept. though, anybody can say a person is trespassing, so the cop's didn't do anything wrong, unfair as hell, but not wrong. .
This is an outrage and although I stay away from starbucks because asheville has so many locally owned coffee shops, I won't be going in there anytime soon.
The cops shouldn't have been called in the first place.
And why did the cops not question why the men should be arrested? The cops protect businesses and rich people from minorities and the poor.
I agree, but just because they were called, doesn't mean there had to be an arrest, after the guy they were waiting for showed up, proving why they were there, the cops should have taken off the cuffs and let them go.
