Over the years I've seen some not-very-thoughtful things said about Bill Gates, but with respect to our global community and environment, I think he has taken at least some good smart approach to matters, including focusing on over-population and some of the less glamorous but very important environmental matters such as this:
Birthday Potty
Flush with innovation: 10 years of reinventing the toilet
A decade of innovation has yielded hundreds of new sanitation solutions that will prevent illness and death.

Why is it that the obscenely rich are incapable of getting past their lust for money? I'll give Gates a centilla of credit for listening to his ex-wife and trying (but failing) to significantly help Humanity. The perversity of the wealthy hurts society in ways that are badly underreported.
The CIA should have a lottery to annually dispatch 3 or more from this class, influenced by their wretchedness.
I have no knowledge of his personal life, but it seems to me that he has done some good things for the Planet.
