I realize that not everyone here is into this sort of action-item, but I am passing along this link for those interested in investor and consumer activism mechanisms in areas of climate change and a couple of other areas. The idea is to take a new approach to reducing the flow of disinformation.

Some interesting ideas, but still taking a sponge to the ocean.

I think most see the need for these sorts of actions. A long time movement had been about how we finance politics and it seems to have gone no where. It will have little chance of success should the republicans gain strength in future elections.

I don't know if it was mentioned but the government does control the airways and more needs to brought to bear on broadcasters as Fox to strictly obey the guidelines. Many are not actual 'news' stations but just for entertainment (like SNL). Still, too many see them as such. Also, the constant need for money has caused many news sources to demand funding or allowing of advertising. Few of us are able to get real, timely news/information because of this. Yes, this is a critical issue but it is also extremely difficult.

To me the no.1, core issue is the demand (us) outstripping the supply (resources). as long as we keep adding more demand, from all sources, things will only get worse (information is a resource). Thanks for the post.
