I have a sci-fi book recommendation. Hollow World by Michael J. Sullivan. The book centers around a utopian future in which technology provides endless energy, near instant travel, and provides for all material wants/needs as well as a society that has done away with religion, gender, government, crime, and violence. The book touches on socialism, religious motivations, liberalism vs conservatism, and sexuality and gender identity and the need for individualism in a world of homogeneity.
I really enjoyed this book and found it compelling and at times thoughtful and touching.
